Neftchi signs contract with one of Europe's promising coaches

Neftchi appointed Adrian Mutu, one of Europe's promising coaches, as the manager, Report informs.

At the end of the negotiations between the parties, the club management could persuade the Romanian expert with their plans, promising projects, and future reforms.

Despite various speculations in the Romanian press about Mutu's salary at Neftchi, according to Report, the salary he will receive from the Baku club is much less than the speculated figures.

Mutu began his managerial career in April 2018 when he was appointed as manager of Romanian Liga I club Voluntari, signing a two-year contract at 37 years of age.

In July 2018, Mutu was signed by United Arab Emirates club Al Wahda to be the manager of their reserve team.

Mutu spent the best years of his career as a footballer in Italy. He played for Italian clubs such as Inter, Verona, Parma, Juventus, and Fiorentina.

In addition, Mutu, who played for Chelsea in England and Ajaccio in France, played under legendary coaches such as Marcello Lippi, Claudio Ranieri, Jose Mourinho, Fabio Capello, and Cesare Prandelli, learning the secrets of football from them. Along with the legendary Geroge Haci, Adrian Mutu is the top-scorer (35 goals) in the history of the Romanian national team.

As a coach, Mutu, considers himself a student of Luciano Spalletti, who won Napoli the Serie A championship after many years last season. Interestingly, when he played in Fiorentina, Spalletti wanted to transfer the striker to Rome, where he was coaching at that time. Although the transfer failed, there is a friendly relationship between the two since then.

The Romanian coach, who instilled in his team more attack and pressing tactics, prefers an aggressive style of play. According to many football pundits, despite being young, Mutu has the potential to manage even a Serie A club.
