Linesman that failed "Zira" vs. "Gabala" match gets 5-match ban

Baku. 16 February. REPORT.AZ/ International referee Zeynal Zeynalov has been punished due to his mistakes during Azerbaijan Premier League 18th round match between “Zira” and “Gabala”. Chairman of AFFA Referees Committee Khagani Mammadov told Report.

He told that linesman is disqualified from next 5 games.

Referee of the match Aliyar Agayev hasn’t been subject to any sanction. According to Kh.Mammadov, FIFA referee managed the game on highest level: “If referee has disadvantage to see the situation, he is not responsible for linesman’s mistake. That’s why Zeynal Zeynalov was exposed to heavy punishment”.

Kh.Mammadov told that referees who make wrong decisions in Premier League matches, will not get appointments to reserve or first division matches: “We have toughened punishing actions starting from this year. Earlier we used to send referees having made mistakes in Premier League games to reserves tournament or first division to preserve their form. This is not the case anymore. Those who make mistakes will be banned from 5 games. It means, those who fail will stay aside for one month. If to convert this into fee, it makes up 3 thousand manats”.

Notably, Zeynal Zeynalov didn’t mark fault in the episode when “Zira” scored equalizer in extra time against “Gabala”. Vice president of “Gabala” Fariz Najafov told that Zeynal Zeynalov numerous times showed biased behavior against “black-whites”.
