IFFHS reveals list of football players with most red cards

Two 23-year-old defenders from South America each received 4 red cards in 2022; more than any other player in top world football over this year. They are Nicolas Diaz (Chile) and Nazareno Colombo (Argentina).

Report informs, citing the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS), that Diaz can be named as the world’s toughest player 2022 as he has played much fewer games (27) than his colleague (45).

He got all his red cards in the Mexican league, first of them with Mazatlán, other three with Tijuana, in the following games:

07/08/2022 Toluca 3-1 Tijuana
26/08/2022 Tijuana 0-2 Santos Laguna

His red cards number 2 and 3 were received in his two consecutive games.

Nazareno Colombo has played the whole year in his native league for Defensa y Justicia. He got his red cards in the league (3 times) and in the national Cup (1):
