David Luiz: Fans in Baku will have the opportunity to support our team

“We’ve been fighting hard to be in Baku – that’s been our main goal ” David Luiz, Chelsea defender said.

Report informs citing the official website of UEFA that he spoke commenting on UEFA Europe League final match to be held against other London’s representative Arsenal in Baku.

The 32 year-old Brazilian defender said that Chelsea’s in Baku would support him: “We’ve been fighting hard to be in Baku – that’s been our main goal. We are a big club and we have fans around the world, and fans there will have the opportunity to see a final and to support our team.”Winning this trophy motivates both us and Arsenal a lot. Pressure is if you play for big clubs; Chelsea is a big club, we have pressure; Arsenal is a big club, they have pressure. We have the chance to win this title. There is pressure of course, but if you don’t like pressure, don’t play at a big club.”

He also supported the head coach, Maurizio Sarri, who is reported to be dismissed from Chelsea if the club losses the final match. “We’ve had a great season. We started very well and people were saying we would fight for the Premier League title. After that we had some ups and downs, but we got to the final of the League Cup, we were the better side against City and lost on penalties.

"We qualified for the Champions League behind two clubs who had amazing seasons, Liverpool and City; and now we’re in this final. Anything can happen in the final, but the manager has been amazing.”

The manager has been trying to teach us his football philosophy, to understand his mind and how he looks at the game – that’s part of his job. He has to show us how he looks at football; if you think you know everything, that’s when you’re going to fall down. We need to try to learn and improve every single day.”

Notably, the final match to be held on May 29 at the Baku Olympic Stadium will start at 23:00.
