Cristiano Ronaldo may be disqualified for 12 matches

Baku. 14 August. REPORT.AZ/ “Real Madrid’s” star Cristiano Ronaldo may be disqualified for 12 matches. Report informs citing "Marca", the reason is that the 32-year-old striker pushed chief referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea in the first Spanish Super Cup match with “Barcelona”.

According to the information, after the match, the referee noted in the protocol that Cristiano Ronaldo had pushed him. In accordance with the Spanish Football Federation’s (RFEF) rule, a footballer player may be punished from 4 to 12 matches for such an action. In case the Portuguese striker gets punished for 4 games, it will be valid only during the Spanish Super Cup matches. If he gets disqualified for 5 or more matches, it will apply to all matches held under the RFEF flag.

Notably, Cristiano Ronaldo entered the field at minute 57 of the match where “Real Madrid” won with the score of 3:1. He received his first yellow card while celebrating his goal at minute 80 by taking off his T-shirt. Three minutes later, he received the second yellow card for the simulation and was sent off the field. However, he did not agree with this decision and pushed the referee from behind.
