Chelsea transfer collapses due to 'major problem'

Chelsea's move for Atletico Madrid frontman Samu Omorodion has collapsed, with Joao Felix now being discussed instead, Report informs via The Mirror.

The Blues had agreed a £34.5 million (over €40.3 million) deal with the La Liga side to bring Omorodion to Stamford Bridge with a seven-year contract on the table. However, with the transfer seemingly close, a major issue with the 20-year-old's contract has seen the move fall apart.

Chelsea already had to up their offer to convince Atletico to sell, but all that effort now appears redundant, reports the Athletic. Omorodion spent last season on loan at Deportivo Alaves, where he scored nine goals and provided one assist

The Premier League outfit and Atletico are poised to do more business this summer with Conor Gallagher set for a switch to the Spanish capital. His contract in London was winding down and a fee of around £33 million (about €38.6 million) looked to be enough to broker a deal between the two teams.
