Baku and Madrid vie for hosting 2027 UEFA Champions League Final

Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has received expressions of interest from the football federations of Azerbaijan and Spain to host the final match of the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League season.

Report informs that Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan, plans to organize the final at the Olympic Stadium, while Madrid, the capital of Spain, aims to host the event at the Wanda Metropolitano, home of Atlético Madrid.

The Wanda Metropolitano has previously hosted the 2018/19 Champions League final between English clubs Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, with the latter emerging victorious with a 2-0 win.

UEFA has also received bids from Poland (Warsaw, National Stadium), Spain (Barcelona, Camp Nou), Switzerland (Basel, St. Jakob-Park), and Wales (Cardiff, Millennium Stadium) to host the 2027 UEFA Women's Champions League final.

The official bids must be submitted by March 19, 2025, following which the UEFA Executive Committee will determine the host venues for the finals in May.
