Azerbaijani national team's rival in UEFA League of Nations changes its head coach

Baku. 3 May. REPORT.AZ/ The head coach of Malta national team which is a rival of Azerbaijani national team in UEFA League of Nations has been replaced.

Report informs citing the official website of Malta Football Federation (MFF), Belgian Tom Saintfiet replaced by the local specialist Ray Farrugia. The decision was taken unanimously by the Executive Committee of the organization.

The president of the MFF, Norman Darmanin Demajo said that taking into consideration the situation, they felt that they had to appoint the local coach. He said they considered it appropriate to choose the one who knows Malta football well, has the experience of preparing the collective for international games and who is the part of the country's football sector: “Durability of our national team is our top priority. Farrugia has the skill and experience to effectively fulfill this mission”.

Farrugia previously served as Malta's main team coach and head coach of the U-21 team.

Notably, Azerbaijani national team will meet with Malta on September 10 in away match and on October 14 at home.
