The World Bank (WB) plans to release a second report dedicated to the Middle Corridor in September this year, Luis Blancas, WB Senior Transport and Logistics Specialist for Europe and Central Asia, said during the fifth Black and Caspian Freight Forum 2026 held in Baku, Report informs.
He recalled that the first such report was presented in 2023.
"This was our first attempt; however, it did not cover the entire corridor - it only concerned three states through whose territory it passes. That report was not as comprehensive as it could have been, but nevertheless, at that time, it was of great importance. At present, we are preparing to present a flagship, updated report. Its publication is scheduled for September 27, and, of course, it will be available for free download. This new flagship report covers all nine states that we classify as participating countries of the Middle Corridor," Blancas noted.
As the specialist clarified, the document covers all categories of cargo and includes issues of infrastructure development, service provision, cross-border interaction, trade facilitation, as well as the economic consequences of the corridor's development.
"This is a truly comprehensive document," the WB senior specialist emphasized.
