As of March 1, 2024, the deposit portfolio of Azerbaijani banks amounted to over 40.42 billion manats (over $23.77 billion), Report informs with reference to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to CBA, this figure is 0.6% more month-on-month, 0.4% more compared to the beginning of the year, and 8.8% more year-on-year (YoY).
About 54.3% of the deposit portfolio, or almost 21.959 billion manats ($12.917 billion), fell to non-financial organizations, which is 1.8% more year-on-year.
During the year, household deposits increased by 11.8% to 14.836 billion manats (almost $8.727 billion), while deposits of financial institutions grew by 56.9% to more than 3.625 billion manats ($2.132 billion).
In the specified period, approximately 23.835 billion manats ($14.02 billion; increased by 2.5% during the year) of total deposits were short-term, while almost 16.586 billion manats ($9.756 billion; increased by 19.3%) were long-term.
