Vice President: North Korea may become World Bank member

Baku. 17 October. REPORT.AZ / If North Korea carries out a number of reforms to increase economic openness, the country can become a member of the World Bank, Bank’s Vice President Mahmoud Mohieldin, who is on a visit to Seoul, said.

Report informs that the bank's official was speaking in an interview to Yonhap.

"States must meet a number of requirements, including the expectations of the international community for peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula in order to join the World Bank. Morover, the DPRK must first become a member of the International Monetary Fund," Mohieddin said.
