Turkey refuses to borrow loans from International Monetary Fund

Baku. 8 October. REPORT.AZ/ Turkey does not intend to borrow loans from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) anymore.

Report informs citing RIA Novosti that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made the due statement on Sunday addressing the activists of Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party in the town of Kizilcahamam.

"We have closed the chapter of the IMF credits in order not to open it anymore," the head of state said.

The Turkish president's statement comes against the backdrop of escalation of tensions between Ankara and Washington, including over the case of US pastor Andrew Brunson, who was detained in Turkey in 2016.
