In the first half of 2022, the non-cash transactions with payment cards in Azerbaijan increased by 2.2 times compared to last year and amounted to 9.9 billion manats ($5.8 billion), Report informs, citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
According to the information, the specific share of non-cash circulation in domestic transactions conducted through payment cards in 6 months increased by 12.2 percentage points to 40.4% compared to the corresponding period of 2021. The volume of domestic e-commerce transactions increased by 2.8 times to 7.4 billion manats ($4.4 billion), and the volume of non-cash payments made through POS terminals increased by 41% to 2.5 billion manats ($1.5 billion). The number and amount of contactless payments exceeded the indicators of the previous period by 2.8 and 2.1 times, respectively.
