Azerbaijan is an example of institutional development in the audit sector for the entire region, President of the Georgian Accountants Union Tata Beridze said.
According to Report, Beridze made the remarks at an event marking the 30th anniversary of the Chamber of Auditors of Azerbaijan and at the international scientific-practical conference titled "Stages of Audit Development: The Path from Compliance to Strategic Partnership and Trust."
She said this development was driven by people, needs, awareness of current trends and an understanding of what is happening in the profession today.
"Today's message from the President of Azerbaijan showed all of us how important this is for every country and how significant the work of every person standing here with us today is. It is important to give due recognition to intellectual labor, support intellectual development, and show not only the accuracy of figures but also the life of the person doing this work. This requires institutions and continuous development," Beridze said.
She noted that some of the most serious challenges currently facing the sector include the integration of artificial intelligence, transparency, reliable auditing and human-related issues.
"I believe the missions of our organizations ultimately converge at one point - protecting the rights of people who work and live in this profession. We can agree that almost all of us do not simply work; we live in and through our profession. Living through this work and simply doing this work are inseparable things. Humanism and the ability of professional organizations to make the lives of every member of our associations better and more secure are coming to the forefront," Beridze said.
