All the tasks set by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the customs authorities are being successfully implemented, Chairman of the State Customs Committee (SCC) Safar Mehdiyev said at an event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the State Customs Service of Azerbaijan and the customs officers’ day, Report informs.
According to Mehdiyev, in 2021, through the Green Corridor, entrepreneurs carried out import and export operations in the amount of over $10 billion without contact with customs officials. Last year, customs authorities fulfilled their budget forecasts by 111%. In 2021, the budget task was fulfilled by collecting more than 443 million manats. Thus, last year, the State Customs Committee provided the transfer of 4.443 billion manats to the state budget.
Safar Mehdiyev added that more than 2 tons of illegal drugs were found in 2021 thanks to the measures taken by customs authorities.
Secretary-General of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Kunio Mikuriya also attended the event. Safar Mehdiyev said that Kunio Mikuriya’s participation in the event is a high assessment of the Azerbaijani customs service and an indicator that the Azerbaijani customs service has earned its place in the world customs family.
