Russian bank cards to be accepted in only 7 countries

The sanctioned Central Bank of Russia (Bank of Russia) advises Russian citizens to take cash when traveling abroad, as the locally issued cards will be accepted only in seven countries, Report informs, citing the bank.

The bank said that these seven countries are Turkey, Vietnam, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

Russia's Mir cards will be accepted in self-proclaimed South Ossetia and Abkhazia republics.

After VISA and MasterCard leave Russia, the cards issued by the Russian banks will work only within the Russian Federation.

Earlier, the US financial corporation MasterCard said it had suspended services in Russia.

VISA will also end its operations in Russia and intend to suspend all operations in the coming days.
