Raiffeisen Bank looking into possibility of abandoning Russia

Austrian Raiffeisen Bank is exploring the possibility of leaving the Russian Federation due to the situation in Ukraine, Reuters reports, citing informed sources.

Report informs, citing the agency, that if Raiffeisen Bank International leaves, it will become the first European bank to quit Russia after the start of the military operation in Ukraine. According to the source, a decision, as a result of which one of the largest banks in Central and Eastern Europe leaves both Russia and Ukraine, "is not inevitable", but it can be made.

At the same time, the bank itself refutes such information. "We are ready to ensure the uninterrupted availability of financial services for our clients in the Russian market," RIA Novosti reports with reference to the press service of Raiffeisen Bank.
