Azerbaijan and Georgia were part of an 11-nation group that also included Australia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, China, Kiribati, the Federated States of Micronesia, Nauru, Palau, the Solomon Islands and Tuvalu, Rachel Thompson, ADB executive director for 11 countries, including Azerbaijan, told journalists, Report informs.
Thompson noted that she herself is originally from Australia.
"I am very lucky because I represent Azerbaijan which is a shareholder of the ADB, each shareholder has a manager, usually the Minister of Finance. Azerbaijan is is represented in ADB by Samir Sharifov, who is one of the most experienced members of our management team. I am honored to benefit from his wise advice on how to represent Azerbaijan in ADB," Rachel Thompson said.
