The World Bank is providing support for the preparation of a feasibility study for a project to lay a cable along the bottom of the Black Sea, the World Bank Director for the South Caucasus Rolanda Price said, Report informs.
"The feasibility study, which will consider technical, economic, financial and institutional and legal aspects to assess the viability of this program, is expected to be ready in July 2024," she said.
The agreement on laying the cable to carry electricity from Georgia and Azerbaijan to Europe was signed by the governments of Georgia, Azerbaijan, Romania and Hungary in December 2022.
The study is being prepared by the Italian energy consulting company CESI.
