Laziz Kudratov: Uzbekistan seeks to improve bilateral co-op status with Azerbaijan

Uzbekistan is working to improve the status of bilateral cooperation with Azerbaijan, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov said at the opening of the Second Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Interregional Forum in Guba, Report informs.

“A state visit to Uzbekistan by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is being prepared in August. During this visit, serious results will be achieved that will give a higher status and level to our relations,” the minister noted.

He added that the government of Uzbekistan will continue to provide comfortable conditions for the activities of Azerbaijani companies in the country.

Kudratov also emphasized the importance of creating a joint Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan investment company in 2023, pointing out that this is “a special tool to support all initiatives.”

“The third area of ​​cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan is the transport sector. Direct air traffic has been established, we are actively increasing transportation through the infrastructure of Azerbaijan, and this year more than 1 million tons of Uzbek cargo will be transported in this direction. In the first quarter of the year, this figure was 300,000 tons. We are grateful to the Azerbaijani side for the benefits and preferences provided to Uzbek companies, thanks to which we are increasingly using this route,” the minister noted.
