The city of Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, has hosted the 13th meeting of the Economy and Trade Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) and the 15th meeting of the OTS Working Group on Economic Cooperation, according to Report.
In his welcoming speech, Daniyar Amangeldiev, the Minister of Economy of Kyrgyzstan, emphasized the importance of October 3, which is celebrated as the Day of Cooperation of the Turkic World. He also congratulated the participating countries on the 15th anniversary of the signing of the agreement establishing the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States.
Minister Amangeldiev shared insights into the recent bilateral developments, including the visit of Kyrgyzstan's President Sadyr Japarov to Azerbaijan and the signing of a cooperation program for 2024-2029. He also highlighted the significance of the upcoming visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Kyrgyzstan, which is expected to contribute significantly to further strengthening the brotherly ties between the two nations.
One of the key projects discussed during the meeting was the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway. This project holds strategic importance for the region, as it will open up new opportunities for logistics between Europe and China, potentially reviving the ancient Silk Road trade routes.
The development of the green economy, as part of the modern economic agenda, received special attention during the discussions.
