The Azerbaijani State Customs Service activities are at a very high level, Secretary-General of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Kunio Mikuriya said today at an event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s state customs service, Report informs.
According to Kunio Mikuriya, Azerbaijani customs officers have set an example in the world with their services. He stressed that the Azerbaijani customs authorities kept operating during the pandemic and quarantine period.
He noted that in order to achieve this, the Azerbaijani customs service established professional staff, and could extend its knowledge and skills beyond the borders of the country.
According to Mukiya, the Azerbaijani customs service has managed to turn its activities into a balanced institution.
On the one hand, this ensures transfers to the state budget, on the other hand, it creates confidence in the Azerbaijani society, he said, expressing his confidence in the bright future of Azerbaijani customs.
