Italian embassy official: Cooperation between Italy and Azerbaijan developing in all areas

Thirteen Italian companies working in the field of agriculture are taking part in the Italian-Azerbaijani business forum in Baku. They want to establish connections, explore investment opportunities and develop cooperation, the representative of the Italian Embassy in Azerbaijan, Ricardo Cursi said, according to Report.

"In Italy, this area has traditionally had strong development, and the same experience can be applied in Azerbaijan, especially since this country has all the necessary conditions, including climatic ones," he said.

Cursi noted that Italy and Azerbaijan have strong cooperation.

"Cooperation between our countries is developing in all areas, and Italy is Azerbaijan's largest trading partner, especially in the energy sector. Italy accounts for 50% of Azerbaijan's oil and gas exports. However, we need to expand our cooperation and agriculture is one of the promising areas," Cursi said.

Referring to COP29, Cursi pointed out the importance of holding this conference this year in Azerbaijan and stated that a large delegation from Italy is expected to attend the event.

"Along with issues of combating climate change, special attention will be paid at COP29 to the development of green agriculture, he said.
