Istanbul Stock Exchange index falls following Imamoglu's detention

The Istanbul Stock Exchange index fell by 6.87% at the opening following the detention of Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu on charges including graft and aiding a terrorist group, Report informs, citing local press.

Trading on the exchange was temporarily suspended for this reason.

Access to multiple social media platforms including X, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok has been restricted in Türkiye after Imamoglu's detention.
