The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group is reinforcing confidence in shared development goals among its member countries, IsDB President Muhammad Al Jasser said during the Group's 51st Annual Meetings in Baku, Report informs.
Al Jasser noted that approaches differ across countries and stages of development: "I want our leaders to return home not only with confidence in the Bank's capabilities but also with renewed faith in the development goals we aim to achieve together as 57 member states. Regardless of development levels, this approach is equally important."
He announced the launch of the IsDB Concessional Financing Facility, designed to meet the needs of the least developed member countries. He urged leaders to ask themselves more often, "How can we help? How can we contribute?" stressing that prosperity must be shared to be meaningful.
The official also pointed out that IsDB should not be seen as a compulsory option but as a consciously chosen partner: "Our wish is for leaders to return with renewed trust in the institution and stronger determination for partnership. For borrowing countries, IsDB must be a partner of choice."
