Int’l auditors discussing new approach to accountability concept

The international scientific and practical conference “Sustainable Development. Accountability. Transparency” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev has started its work in Baku under the joint organization of the Accounting Chamber and the Chamber of Auditors, Report informs.

The main purpose of the conference is to exchange views and develop recommendations on a new approach to the concept of accountability in the context of the transition to a sustainable development model, studying and applying international experience in the field of building a reporting and control system, including, along with financial indicators, non-financial, environmental, social and other factors.

The conference is attended by more than 150 delegates representing such authoritative international structures as the European Federation of Accountants and Auditors for SMEs (EFAA), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), as well as 11 countries - Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Russia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Italy, India, France.

Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Department of Economic Policy and Industrial Issues of the Presidential Administration Natig Amirov, Chairman of the Accounting Chamber Vugar Gulmammadov, Chairman of the Chamber of Auditors, Professor Vahid Novruzov welcomed the guests and wished them success in the conference.

Amirov read out an address from President Ilham Aliyev to the participants of the event.

On September 16, the conference participants are scheduled to visit the Heydar Aliyev Center, exchange experience on the regulatory framework, methodological support, organization and regulation of audits with representatives of audit and accounting structures of foreign countries and get acquainted with Baku city.
