Annual inflation in 19 eurozone countries, according to preliminary estimates, has reached 7.5% from 5.9% a month earlier, and this figure is a record for the entire history of Eurostat monitoring, Report informs, citing the data of the statistics agency.
A year earlier, inflation in the eurozone was only 1.3% per annum.
Only in March 2022, consumer prices in the euro area, according to preliminary estimates, increased by 2.5%.
At the same time, core annual inflation has accelerated to 3% from 2.7% a month earlier, with an acceleration forecast to 3.1%.
