India establishes diamond exchange for first time in the world

Baku. 28 August. REPORT.AZ/ India’s Indian Commodity Exchange (ICEX) has launched business on diamond futures for the first time in the world. 

Report informs citing Gazeta.ru, the ICEX has stated.

According to information, initially, operations will be carried out with 1-karat stones. Later, it is planned to do business with 0,3 and 0,5-carat diamonds. Chief of ICEX Sanjit Prasad noted that the realization of futures operations will ensure the transparency, efficiency and security of diamond investments. It will also create a chance for jewelry producers to protect themselves from price fluctuations.
