Indexes in New York rose amid positive coronavirus vaccine news

Key indexes on the New York stock exchange showed strong growth on Monday.

Fox Business noted that the rally in the market was caused by the news that the coronavirus vaccine of the British-Swedish pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca showed high effectiveness without serious side effects following the tests' results, Report says, citing TASS.

According to the trading platform's website, the Dow Jones industrial average rose by 327.79 points (+1.12%) and stopped at 29,591.27. The S&P 500 index, which includes shares of the 500 largest companies in the US market, rose 20.05 points (+0.56%) to 3,577.59. The Nasdaq electronic exchange index rose 25.66 points (+0.22%) to 11,880.63.

The price of January futures for WTI crude oil rose 1.06% to $42.87 per barrel. Gold futures fell 2.7 % to $ 1 833,70 a Troy ounce.
