IMF mission to visit Moldova on March 1 to discuss economic risks

Representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will visit Moldova March 1-14 to discuss prospects and risks for the economy with the country’s authorities, Report informs referring to the press service of the IMF office in Chisinau.

“From March 1 to March 14, 2023, the IMF mission, led by Ruben Atoyan, will hold discussions in Chisinau with the Moldovan authorities in the context of the third review of the IMF-funded program of the Republic of Moldova,” the organization said.

In particular, the fund’s experts plan to discuss macroeconomic events, prospects and risks for the national economy with the country’s leadership. The delegation will also evaluate the progress made in fulfilling program commitments.

In December 2021, the fund approved an agreement to launch a new program with Moldova for 40 months, during which the country should receive $590 million.
