Azerbaijan's and Türkiye's supreme audit institutions plan to further strengthen cooperation, including joint efforts in the digitalization of public auditing, Vugar Gulmammadov, Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts of Azerbaijan, said during his meeting in Shamakhi with Metin Yener, President of the Turkish Court of Accounts, Report informs.
Gulmammadov congratulated Metin Yener on his re‑election as President of the Turkish Court of Accounts.
He noted that cooperation between the two supreme audit institutions has been developing successfully, and joint activities carried out so far will continue in the future. He added that new initiatives aimed at further strengthening relations will also be supported.
During the meeting, the Chamber of Accounts of Azerbaijan and the Turkish Court of Accounts presented the results of parallel audits conducted on the Preferential Trade Agreement and higher education institutions.
The audits included findings in the fields of trade and higher education, as well as recommendations, which were widely discussed.
It was noted that the parallel audits were carried out within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding renewed in 2022 between the Chamber of Accounts of Azerbaijan and the Turkish Court of Accounts.
