Gold drops slightly on stronger dollar

The gold dropped slightly on Tuesday morning.

Report informs, citing the trading data, that the February futures for gold dropped by $6.05 or 0.32% to $1,915.6 per troy ounce at New York's Comex. The March futures for silver rose by 0.08% to $24.385 per ounce.

The gold market on Tuesday morning sees a negative trend, which may be facilitated, in particular, by some strengthening of the US currency. The euro against the dollar rises to $1.0830 from $1.0816 of the previouss session. And the dollar index (the exchange rate against a basket of currencies of six US trading partners) rose by 0.14% to 102.35 points.

The US dollar is still influenced by the slowdown in annual inflation in the US, which is unfavorable to the policy of monetary tightening.
