Consumer prices in Germany, consistent with EU standards, increased by 2.3% year-on-year in March 2024, after growing by 2.7% the previous month, the country's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) said, Report informs via Interfax.
Compared to the previous month, consumer prices increased by 0.6%.
There was also a month-on-month increase of 0.6% in February.
Analysts on average predicted a year-on-year rise of 2.3% and a month-on-month rise of 0.6%.
Consumer prices calculated according to German standards increased by 2.2% year-on-year in March. The month-on-month increase was 0.4%.
