G7 finance ministers meeting to be held in May 2023

The meeting of the finance ministers of the G7 countries will be held in Niigata, Japan, on May 11-13, 2023, Japanese Finance Minister Shun'ichi Suzuki said at a press conference after the meeting of finance ministers and heads of central banks of the G20 countries in Washington, Report informs.

“For a successful meeting, we are working closely with all the organizations involved and are preparing,” he said.

In 2023, the chairmanship of the G7 will pass to Japan. The government of the country has already officially announced the holding of the unification summit in Hiroshima on May 19-21, 2023.

He noted that an office has been set up under the Foreign Minister's secretariat to prepare the summit.

In addition, the meeting of the foreign ministers of the G7 countries will be held on April 16-18 in the city of Karuizawa, a famous resort in the Japanese prefecture of Nagano.

It is also agreed to hold meetings of health ministers of the G7 member countries in the city of Nagasaki, ministers of labor in the city of Kurashiki in Okayama prefecture, and ministers of agriculture in the city of Miyazaki of the prefecture of the same name on the island of Kyushu. Event dates will be determined later.
