Eurozone trade surplus exceeds 23B euros

The eurozone’s trade surplus in February this year amounted to 23.6 billion euros, after a surplus of 11.4 billion euros in January, Report informs referring to the European statistical agency Eurostat.

Analysts surveyed by Trading Economics predicted a surplus of 17.9 billion euros.

At the same time, in annual terms, exports of goods from the eurozone increased in February by 0.3%, to 235 billion euros, imports decreased by 8.4%, to 211.4 billion.

In the European Union, the foreign trade surplus in February amounted to 22.1 billion euros after a surplus of 6.2 billion euros the month earlier. Exports of goods from the EU in February increased in annual terms by 0.7%, to 210.6 billion euros, imports decreased by 9%, to 188.5 billion euros.
