EBRD updates investment portfolio for Azerbaijan

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has, to date, invested 3.53 billion euros in 188 projects in Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing the EBRD.

Although the number of projects financed by the EBRD in Azerbaijan did not change, the investment portfolio has decreased by 80 million euros, compared to the indicators announced by the Bank for April 12 of last year.

The share of the private sector in the EBRD's investment portfolio for Azerbaijan remained unchanged at 13%.

Currently, EBRD is running 35 projects in Azerbaijan. The portfolio for these projects is 844 million euros (21 million euros less), operating assets total 729 million euros (19 million euros less), and cumulative payments are 3.036 billion euros (70 million euros less).

According to the revised portfolio, 87% or 730 million euros (down 18 million euros) fell to the share of infrastructure projects, 10% or 85 million euros (2 million euros less) to the share of industry, trade, and agribusiness, and 3% or 29 million euros (1 million euros less) to the share of financial institutions.

EBRD's investments in Azerbaijan make up 1% of its total portfolio.

Azerbaijan has been a member of the EBRD since 1992.
