EBRD invests 34M euros in Azerbaijan

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) invested 34 million euros in eight projects in Azerbaijan last year, Report informs, citing the EBRD.

According to the bank, compared to 2020, the number of projects increased by two and the amount of the investments doubled.

The number of projects financed by the EBRD in Azerbaijan has increased again, approaching the 2015-2017 figures (9 projects per year).

To date, the EBRD has invested 3.305 billion euros in 178 projects in Azerbaijan. The share of the private sector in the EBRD's investment portfolio is 12%.

The EBRD currently has 34 active projects in Azerbaijan. The portfolio of these projects is 801 million euros. Of this, 88% or 709 million euros fell to the share of infrastructure projects, 9% or 73 million euros to the share of industry, trade and agribusiness, and 3% or 20 million euros to the share of financial institutions.

The EBRD's investment in Azerbaijan amounted to 1% of the bank's total portfolio.
