EBRD increases current portfolio of projects in Azerbaijan

As of February 28, the current loan portfolio of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Azerbaijan amounted to EUR 1.086 billion, Report informs referring to the EBRD.

Some 33 projects have been financed using these loan resources.

The portfolio volume increased by 0.37% (EUR 4 million) over the month. For comparison, as of January 31, 2025, it was estimated at EUR 1.082 billion and covered 34 projects.

According to the EBRD, the bulk of the current portfolio - 92% (EUR 994 million) - is aimed at developing sustainable infrastructure. Another 5% (EUR 52 million) falls on the corporate sector, and 3% (EUR 40 million) on financial institutions.

In total, the EBRD has invested more than EUR 4.064 billion in Azerbaijan to implement 196 projects.

The bank's operating assets in the country as of February 28, 2025, amounted to EUR 757 million, an increase of 0.8% (EUR 6 million) compared to the figure as of January 31 this year.

In 2024, the EBRD provided loans to finance eight projects in Azerbaijan for a total of EUR 199 million, which is 27.56% (or EUR 43 million) more than in the previous year. For comparison, in 2023, the bank financed two projects.
