Projects financed by Islamic Development Bank (IDB) in Azerbaijan will be finalized by the end of 2020, source in the government told Report.
According to the source, no projects are currently discussed with IBD.
For the present, IDB’s portfolio in Azerbaijan amounts to $265 million, which envisages reconstruction of water supply and sewerage system in 6 districts (Astara, Dashkesen, Tartar, Gadabay, Samukh and Gazakh), complex development of irrigated cropping and development of legal base on Islamic funding.
Totally, IDB has allocated $1.2 billion to Azerbaijan within 68 projects on agriculture, energy, transport, social sphere, water supply, ecology, trade, private sector and etc.
Azerbaijan has been in cooperation with IDB since 1992. Azerbaijan’s share in the bank’s capital is 0.1% or $50.92 million.
