The Chamber of Accounts of Azerbaijan is conducting pre-audits in the country’s liberated territories, Vugar Gulmammadov, the Chairman of the chamber, told Report.
"Based on the relevant instructions of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, extensive work is being carried out in the liberated territories. As the chamber, we are conducting some pre-audits in these areas. The goal is to prevent financial violations before they occur, taking into account the aspects noted in the relevant audit principles regarding pre-audit during financial control," he noted.
Gulmammadov further stated that, as in the previous year, 2024's work plan also included audits of restoration and reconstruction issues in the liberated territories: "During the completed audits, we have also made some suggestions. We believe that some of these proposals can also create savings in state funds. For example, this could include optimizing costs allocated for rebuilding and restoring cities and villages, creating modern infrastructure, aligning project document volumes with actual needs, and avoiding the creation of excess capacity, etc."
