BSTDB says 'will be closely monitoring' situation in Ukraine, 'will respond as appropriate'

The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) is expressing deepest concern about the ongoing war situation in Ukraine, and hope that fighting is stopped and peaceful settlement is reached as soon as possible, the Black Sea Trade and Developmen Bank said in a statement.

Report informs, citing the statement, that peace 'is a vital prerequisite for cooperation.'

The bank said BSTDB stands firm in its commitment to ensure the Bank’s continued ability to fulfill its mandate to promote development and cooperation in the region.

"The Bank will be closely monitoring the situation as it develops and will respond as appropriate," the statement reads.

The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB), an international financial institution with headquarters in Thessaloniki, Greece, was established by Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Turkey, and Ukraine. The Bank supports economic development and regional cooperation in the Black Sea Region.
