Azerbaijani parliament to consider dismissal of Elman Rustamov

Tomorrow's plenary session of the Milli Majlis will consider the issue of relieving Elman Rustamov of his duties as chairman of the Central Bank, a parliamentary source told Report.

Today, the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, and Entrepreneurship discussed the President's motions regarding the dismissal of Elman Rustamov from the Central Bank and the appointment of Taleh Kazimov as a member of the Central Bank.

The Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, and Entrepreneurship approved both motions and recommended them for discussion at the Plenary Session of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan.

Rustamov is currently a member and chairman of the Central Bank. He will be relieved of his duties as a member of the Board and as the chairman of the Central Bank.

Elman Rustamov, who will turn 70 this year, has been the head of the Central Bank since January 1995.
