Azerbaijani Finance Ministry, Asian Development Bank hold consultations

The Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have held consultations on the current state and future of cooperation, Report informs, citing the ministry.

Azerbaijani Finance Minister Samir Sharifov met with Director for Public Management, Financial Sector, and Trade at the ADB Central and West Asia Department Tariq Niazi, who is visiting Baku.

At the meeting, they noted the importance of developing a new ADB strategy for Azerbaijan in accordance with the strategies “Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for Socio-Economic Development” and the “Socio-Economic Development Strategy for 2022-2026”.

During the meeting, the parties noted the support and technical assistance provided by the ADB to increase the macroeconomic stability of Azerbaijan, discussed the government's strategic goals in managing the public sector, developing the financial sector, and reviewed a future lending program based on the sustainability of economic development in the country.
