Azerbaijan to finance 169 projects through state investment in 2025

Azerbaijan plans to finance 169 projects with a total value of 21.5 billion manats ($12.65 billion) through state capital investments in 2025, the Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts, Vugar Gulmammadov, said at today's plenary session of the Parliament discussing the bill on the state budget for 2025, Report informs.

According to Gulmammadov, 14 of these projects are new projects.

Additionally, the chairman said that next year, 267.8 million manats ($157.53 million) are planned to be allocated for the completion of 85 projects with a total value of 798.4 million manats ($469.65 million).

"Furthermore, 895.9 million manats ($527 million) will be attracted from international organizations for project financing, which will lead to an increase in foreign state debt," Gulmammadov added.

According to him, interest payments on state debt service and obligations will amount to 1.3 billion manats ($764.7 million) in 2025, 3 times more compared to 2024.

The chairman emphasized the importance of taking additional measures to reduce the impact of increasing debt burden on fiscal sustainability.
