In the first half of 2026, 52.4% of Azerbaijan's state budget expenditures, exceeding 8.787 billion manats (approximately $5.17 billion), were directed toward socially-oriented spending.
According to Report, citing the country's Ministry of Finance, this represents an increase of 951.3 million manats (approximately $559.6 million), or 12.1% compared to the same period last year.
These expenditures cover wages, food purchases, pensions and social benefits, medicines and medical supplies, and mandatory health insurance costs.
