As of January 1, 2025, the assets of Azerbaijan's banking sector amounted to just over 53 billion million manats, 7.8% more compared to January 1 of last year, Report informs, citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
Net loans to customers made up 25.93 billion manats of banks' assets. Over the past year, the sector's loan portfolio grew by 18.7%, while the share of loans in assets increased from 44.4% to 48.9%.
During the reporting period, the banking sector's liabilities increased by 7.6% to 46.38 billion manats, including the deposit portfolio which increased by 9.1% to nearly 37.7 billion manats. Of this, about 14.3 billion manats are deposits of individuals, and about 23.4 billion manats are deposits of legal entities. During the year, individuals' funds in banks increased by 13.6%, while companies' funds increased by 6.5%.
Over the past year, banks' liabilities to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan decreased by 100%.
The sector's balance capital increased by 9.2% to roughly 6.62 billion manats.
