As of January 1, 2025, Azerbaijan's non-performing loan portfolio stood at 655 million manats (approximately $385.3 million), representing a 6.7% increase, or an additional 41 million manats ($24.1 million), compared to January 1, 2024, Report inform, citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the CBA’s Financial Stability Report, non-performing business loans experienced a slight decline of 0.8%, amounting to 375 million manats ($220.5 million). Meanwhile, non-performing consumer loans saw a sharp increase of 24.9%, rising to 246 million manats ($144.7 million). Non-performing mortgage loans, however, recorded a significant drop of 12.8%, totaling 34 million manats ($20 million).
Despite the overall growth in non-performing loans, the share of the non-performing portfolio within the total lending portfolio decreased by 0.2 percentage points to 2.4%, reflecting robust lending dynamics throughout the year.
