As of August 1, 2023, the assets of Azerbaijan-based banks amounted to over 44,880.3 million manats ($26.38 billion), up 7.9% from a year earlier, Report informs, citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
The loans to customers amounted to 20.117 billion manats ($11.84 billion). Year-on-year, the loan portfolio grew 17.6%, and the share of loans in assets rose from 40.8% to 44.8%.
In the reporting period, the liabilities grew by 7.1% to 39.041 billion manats ($22.98 billion), with the deposit portfolio rising by 7.6% to 31.841 billion manats ($18.74 billion). Individuals accounted for 12,429.3 million manats ($12.61 billion), while legal entities made up 19,411.8 million manats ($11.42 billion). During the year, the funds of the population in banks increased by 17.2%, and the funds of companies in banks increased by 2.2%.
The liabilities of the banks to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) dropped by 2.6 times to 107.7 million manats ($63.28 million), and total capital surged by 13.6% to 5.839 billion manats ($3.44 billion).
