Azerbaijan one of 4 countries in terms of real GDP growth in Europe & Central Asia region

According to World Bank forecasts, in 2023 the growth of the Azerbaijani economy will be 1.1 percentage points higher than in the world and 2.7 percentage points higher than in Europe and Central Asia (ECA), said Agil Asadov, head of the department at the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications, Report informs.

He was commenting on the World Bank's Global Economic Prospects for 2023 report.

According to Asadov, compared with the forecast published in June 2022, Azerbaijan is one of the four countries in terms of real GDP growth dynamics in the Europe and Central Asia region in 2023.

The World Bank estimates the expectations of the global economy in accordance with the new forecast of 1.7% against the forecast growth of 3%. Per capita income growth in 2023 is projected to be lower than before the COVID-19 pandemic.
