Azerbaijan, EBRD mull financial sector strategies

The possibilities of cooperation between the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on the implementation of the organization's strategy for the financial sector of Azerbaijan for 2023-2027 were discussed today, CBA Chairman Taleh Kazimov said on Twitter, Report informs.

“Today we met with the delegation led by Mr. Matteo Patrone, Managing Director, Eastern Europe and the Caucasus at the EBRD.

During the meeting, Mr. Alkis Vrienios Drakinos, newly appointed Regional Director for the Caucasus and Ms. Nataly Muravidze, newly appointed Head of the Azerbaijan Resident Office of the EBRD were introduced.

We exchanged views on the activity of the EBRD in Azerbaijan, including its participation in the banking sector and the potential areas of cooperation with the EBRD in the implementation of Azerbaijan’s financial sector strategy for 2023-2027.

Moreover, we discussed the current state and future directions of cooperation between the Central Bank and the EBRD,” Taleh Kazimov tweeted.
